Api Webex Teams

Welcome to the docs! Webexteamssdk is a community developed Pythonic wrapping of the Webex Teams APIs. The package represents all of the Cisco Webex Teams API interactions via native Python tools. Making working with the Cisco Webex Teams APIs in Python a native and natural experience. Webexteamssdk helps you get things done faster.

Api
  1. The integration between Webex and Microsoft Azure or Office 365 is entirely app centric. All the Microsoft Cloud APIs (OneDrive or SharePoint Online) are called directly from Webex. Those API’s are OAuth2 protected resources and require an access token to securely access them.
  2. Anchor Webex Platform anchor. The Cisco Webex for Developers program gives you the tools you need to develop applications across the entire Webex family of products and services. Webex Meetings is a powerful conferencing solution that lets you connect with anyone, anywhere, in real time.

This article provides instructions for connecting Microsoft Cloud App Security to your existing Cisco Webex account using the connector APIs. This connection gives you visibility into and control over Webex users, activities, and files. For information about how Cloud App Security protects Cisco Webex Teams, see Protect Cisco Webex Teams.

Prerequisites

  • We suggest that you create a dedicated service account for the connection. This enables you to see that governance actions performed in Webex as being performed from this account, such as delete messages sent in Webex. Otherwise, the name of the admin who connected Cloud App Security to Webex will appear as the user who performed the actions.

  • You must have Full Administrator and Compliance Officer roles in Webex (under Roles and Security > Administrator Roles).

How to connect Webex to Cloud App Security

  1. In the Cloud App Security console, click Investigate and then Connected apps.

  2. In the App connectors page, click the plus button followed by Cisco Webex.

  3. In the pop-up, enter the instance name of this connector.

  4. Click Connect Cisco Webex. The Webex sign in page opens. Enter your credentials to allow Cloud App Security access to your team's Webex instance.

  5. Webex asks you if you want to allow Cloud App Security access to your team information, activity log, and perform activities as a team member. To proceed, click Allow.

  6. Back in the Cloud App Security console, you should receive a message that Webex was successfully connected.

  7. Make sure the connection succeeded by clicking Test API.

Testing may take a couple of minutes. After you receive a success notice, click Close.

After connecting Webex, you'll receive events for 7 days prior to connection. Cloud App Security scans events over the past three months. To increase this, you must have a Cisco Webex pro license and open a ticket with Cloud App Security support.

If you have any problems connecting the app, see Troubleshooting App Connectors.

Use Microsoft Graph in any kind of app

Microsoft Teams apps give work groups a new tool to make collaboration a more productive and compelling experience. These apps let work group users share assets, interact through chat, and schedule events on the team calendar. These apps can also automate creating teams, channels, and conversations, enhancing the value of Microsoft Teams.

You can create web sites, services, and native platform applications that run outside the Microsoft Teams user experience, and call the Teams API to automate Teams scenarios.

Types of apps enabled for Microsoft Teams

These collaboration tools include Microsoft Graph-enabled tabs or bots running inside Microsoft Teams apps. You can also call Microsoft Graph outside of a Microsoft Teams app, such as from a website or a web service. If you've already enabled your website for Microsoft Graph, you can use that work for Microsoft Teams by using the Microsoft Teams developer platform to create a tab that uses the existing website code.
